Privacy Policy

Bingo Bestie · Last updated: September 15, 2026

The short version: Your games, cards, and card photos stay on your device. There are no accounts and no ads, and we never sell your information or track you across other apps. To help us find and fix problems, the App sends anonymous usage statistics, and you can turn that off anytime in Settings.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Bingo Bestie mobile app ("the App", "we", "us") handles information. By using the App you agree to this policy.

Information stored on your device

Your games, bingo cards, game history, templates, custom patterns, scanned card photos, and app settings are stored locally on your device. They are removed when you uninstall the App or use Clear All Data in Settings. We never receive the numbers on your cards, your card photos, or the names you give your games, cards, templates, and patterns. The anonymous usage statistics described below include some facts about how you play, such as how many cards a game has and which numbers were called, but never the cards themselves.

Camera and photos

With your permission, the App uses your device camera to scan bingo cards. Image capture and number recognition happen entirely on your device. Card photos are saved locally on your device and are never uploaded to us or to any third party. You can delete saved card photos at any time from the App's Settings screen.

The number recognition uses Google ML Kit, which runs on your device. Your photos and card numbers are not sent to Google. ML Kit does send Google basic technical information so Google can check that it works well, such as your device model and operating system, the app version, how long a scan took, error codes, and an installation ID that Google says is not meant to identify you. This is built into ML Kit, so the Share Anonymous Usage setting does not control it. For more detail, see Google's privacy policy.

Audio

The App plays sound effects during gameplay. It does not record audio. A microphone permission may appear on Android because of the camera component, but the App does not record or transmit audio.

Anonymous usage statistics

When Share Anonymous Usage is on, the App sends us information about how it is used and how well it is working, so we can find what is confusing or broken and decide what to improve. It is on unless you turn it off. This includes:

These reports are tied to a random ID that the App creates when it is installed (the same random ID our subscription service uses, described below). It is not your name, email, phone number, or your device's advertising ID, and a new one is created if you reinstall the App.

The App never sends your name, email, or contacts; the names you give your games, cards, templates, or patterns; the numbers on your cards; your card photos; your precise location; or your device's advertising ID.

Like any internet connection, your IP address is visible to the service that receives these reports. We have set that service to discard it, and we do not store it or use it to work out where you are.

We use PostHog, Inc. to receive and store these reports on servers in the United States. PostHog processes them for us as our service provider. Reports may be kept for several years. For more detail, see PostHog's privacy policy.

Turning usage statistics off

You can turn this off anytime: open Settings, go to Privacy & Legal, and switch off Share Anonymous Usage. The App then stops sending usage statistics, including crash reports, and deletes any it has not sent yet. Everything else in the App works exactly the same, and you can switch it back on whenever you like.

Subscriptions

The App offers an optional auto-renewing subscription ("Bingo Bestie Plus"), sold and billed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to check whether you have Plus. To do that, the App contacts RevenueCat each time it starts, whether or not you have bought anything. RevenueCat receives an app-generated random user ID, basic device and app information (such as device type, operating system, app version, and store country or currency), and, if you buy or restore Plus, your purchase records from Apple or Google (such as the product purchased, its price, and transaction identifiers). RevenueCat may work out which country you are in from your connection, and then discards your IP address. We do not receive your name, payment card, or billing address; those are handled directly by Apple and Google.

When Share Anonymous Usage is on, your usage statistics use the same random ID as your subscription record, so we can see things like which features Plus members use. We never connect either one to your name or email.

For more detail, see the Apple, Google, and RevenueCat privacy policies.

Announcements and app settings

When the App starts, it downloads a small file from our website, bingobestie.com, that controls in-app announcements and which features are switched on. This request does not include your random ID or any information about you. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, sees your IP address in order to deliver the file. We do not use it to identify you.

Crash reports from Apple and Google

Separately from the App's own setting, Apple and Google may share anonymous crash reports and performance statistics with us if you allowed that in your device's settings (on iPhone and iPad: Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Share With App Developers). Those reports are controlled by your device's settings, not by the App.

No ads, no tracking, no selling

The App shows no advertising and does not track you. We do not use your device's advertising ID, we do not combine what the App collects with information from other companies' apps or websites, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

You control the information on your device: delete card photos in Settings, erase everything with Clear All Data in Settings, or uninstall the App. You can turn off usage statistics at any time, as described above.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA or UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to how it is used. Where those laws apply, we collect usage statistics based on our legitimate interest in keeping the App working and improving it, and you can object at any time by turning off Share Anonymous Usage. Usage statistics are processed in the United States.

Because usage statistics are tied only to a random ID, and not to your name or an account, we usually cannot tell which reports are yours. If you contact us, we will help however we can. To have your subscription record deleted, email us with your App Store or Google Play order number and we will ask RevenueCat to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the App starts collecting a new kind of information, we will update this policy before that version of the App is released.
